When you’re planning a garment, where do you start?  Do you buy fabric you love without a plan in mind, or do you head for the store with pattern in hand, looking for the perfect fabric to complete your design?  And how do you pull together a collection of fabrics to create a special pieced garment? 

No matter where you start, it’s important that your fabrics and garment style be compatible—and the more you know about fabric, the easier it is to predict the success of your garment.  In this class, you’ll learn why you need more information than “I love it and can’t live without it!”  You’ll learn to make wise fabric choices by considering color, texture, weight, hand, surface design, fiber properties, and quality.
